The Mascenic Regional School District is committed to providing students with a quality free and appropriate public school education in the least restrictive environment. The services that are provided to educationally disabled students are based upon the students' individual needs and determined by members of the students IEP/placement team.

Currently 12% of the Mascenic Regional School District is identified as having an educational disability and requiring specialized instruction. Students are served from pre-school to age 21.

Students with mild to moderate disabilities are typically served in their neighborhood schools and in a resource room or learning center. Related services such as Speech/Language, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Counseling are also provided.

Students with severe disabilities are frequently served in more self contained programs. These students require more intensive services to make educational progress. Childfind screenings are held twice yearly in October and April.
